NCCU FABRECO: Top 6 Finalists in Hult Prize 2023 Taipei Summit

FABRECO achieved a remarkable feat by securing a spot as one of the Top 6 Finalists in the Hult Prize 2023 Taipei Summit. This prestigious recognition was announced by Mrs. Gillian Chen, who exuded great enthusiasm and excitement while making the announcement. Mrs. Chen's words conveyed the significance and honor of FABRECOs entrance into the Top 6 Finalists, highlighting the team's exceptional performance and their potential for success in the competition.

The Hult Prize event, which took place at MingChuan University from June 16th to 18th, served as a platform for teams from across the globe to participate. These teams, hailing from countries like the United States, Mexico, Japan, Korea, India, and more, presented a wide range of business models specifically designed to tackle the challenges faced by the fashion industry.

Among the participating teams, FABRECO stood out by introducing an innovative approach that aimed to address two significant global issues: textile waste and hospital bed scarcity. They made a significant impact by aligning their efforts with nine Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

今年的區域賽於2023年6月16日至18日銘傳科技大學舉行，也為來自世界各地的隊伍提供了參賽的舞台。參賽隊伍來自美國、墨西哥、日本、韓國、印度等國家，利用不同的背景提出各個商業點子來挑戰時尚產業的利弊。

在參與的隊伍中，FABRECO因其創新方法脫穎而出，旨在解決兩個重要的全球問題：紡織廢棄物和醫院床位短缺。他們的點子甚至能與九個永續發展目標(SDGs)串聯起來。

Thanks to the support and assistance provided by Director Sonia Lo and Tiana Wu from the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, College of Commerce, NCCU, the team successfully accomplished the creation and development of an exceptional prototype design. This collaboration involved working alongside DOT Design, the winner of the 2023 Sustainable Design Award, further elevating their prospects for success.

Their pitch during the event was highly impressive and well-received, in order to enhance their pitch presentation, the FABRECO team demonstrated remarkable dedication by practicing in various public spaces, including the MRT, common areas within the university, study rooms, and even incorporated practice sessions into their daily routines.

得益於國立政治大學商學院創新創業辦公室主任和助教的支持和協助，該團隊成功完成了原型設計的創作和開發。這次開發也與2023年永續設計獎的得主DOT Design合作，進一步協助他們未來的發展。

Following the conclusion of the competition, the team members shared their emotions and reflections on the journey. Angélica Urbina, CEO of FABRECO, expressed joy as she highlighted the team's remarkable growth throughout the competition. Their unwavering discipline and effective collaboration not only garnered valuable insights into the business world but also honed their technical expertise. The team is genuinely enthusiastic about the future of FABRECO and eagerly anticipates the success of their company.

The team also expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support they received from various companies, as well as from their friends and families, throughout this transformative journey. Meanwhile, at the National Chengchi University, there is immense pride in the team's relentless efforts to promote social responsibility practices that benefit the environment, ultimately contributing to the attainment of the 2030 united nations sustainable development goals agenda. The university extends its best wishes and good luck to FABRECO on their mission to create a more sustainable, empathetic, and humane world. Their dedication serves as an inspiration to others and exemplifies the positive impact that can be achieved through collective action and a shared vision for a better future.
